As online home business owners, we must take advantage of all available ways to make money. There is a big opportunity to make extra money by marketing our Internet skills to offline businesses. These are the mom and pop shops, the small businesses, and service providers in our cities. There are numerous reasons why this market is in need of our internet marketing skills.
Here are just a few examples:

1. Many off line small businesses are suffering right now, when it comes to marketing their business. Most of the old tried and true methods of advertising a business are just not as effective as they used to be. Those businesses that do not have an online presence, are losing customers daily. Today, most people will do a Local search on the computer, instead of looking the telephone book or yellow pages.
2. Most off line small business owners are afraid of the Internet. They do not know how to build a website, do advertising on the Internet, or think that being on the Internet will not help their business.
3. Most off line small business owners are too busy running their business to properly maintain their website.
Solutions
1. For those off line businesses that do not have a website – offer to build and maintain a website, do online advertising, set up a squeeze page with opt-in for newsletters, and set up the site for Local searches on the Search Engines.
2. For those who have a website – clean up the website, optimize the website correctly, set up a sales/landing/squeeze page with opt-in for newsletter, and set up for Local searches.
Benefits
As work from home business owners, we must show these small businesses the benefits we can provide.
1. Benefits on having a website, for those who do not have one.
2. Optimizing the website, for those who have a website, but do not keep the site updated.
3. Benefits of having a squeeze page with opt-in, to collect information on site visitors. (The LIST) Being able to use this list for sales promotions and special prices at a later date.
4. Benefits of setting up the business for Local searches. Since most people search the Internet, instead of newspapers/telephone book/yellow pages.
This will require us to visit the business, or call them on the telephone, to get information about their business. We will have to make up a questionnaire or survey, that gets information on whether they have a website, who maintains the site if they have one, how much they spend on advertising, as examples. The more information we can get, the better we can fill their needs. We will need to visit many businesses, because not all businesses will want to hire us.
After we compile our list of businesses, we will have to figure out what our services will cost. When we call on the business at a later date, we can show them the benefits of using our expertise, give them prices for our services, or work out a deal.
As you can see, off line businesses need our online marketing skills to set up and maintain their websites. Those that have websites, are usually too busy, so they are willing to pay someone like us to do it for them. This is a great business opportunity for the work from home business owner. This is something even a newbie could do, all you need are good SEO skills, good communication skills, and the drive to do it.
